Wylam
Garage was established in August 1968 by Dorothy and Alan Conley.
They started out with just a workshop, repairing cars and light vans
and selling the odd second hand car. During those early years in business,
Alan competed in motor rallies throughout the UK using Rootes/Chrysler
Imps, Avengers and Sunbeams, and became a specialist in these vehicles,
knowing how to make them reliable through his rallying experiences.
Repairing these cars led to new car sales and throughout the 70's
the garage was selling approximately 100 new cars per year without
even a showroom.
Today the company sells over 300 new and 500 used vehicles every year
and is still growing. Most of the 20 employee's have been with Wylam
Garage for a considerable period of time and added together comes
to over 150 years! |
